I have found that Joomla has it's power and growth not only because people use their free time and are having fun coding neat things for it, but most of the exciting components are real peace of art and are paid(non GPL).
Now when Joomla guys wants that all Joomla components and modules changes to the GPL license, it seems like it will loose the potential growth and ALL that are living on the coding for Joomla just turn their backs and go let's say "MAMBO". All big components that performs the tasks that are needed for business are paid, if all those moves out from Joomla it will leave with forums, image galleries and other (as I say) non serious business stuff. I have installed Joomla for many "real business" and bought paid components and all parties were happy: Me - got paid for install, clients - for the sites, and I hope Joomla guys too - new fans of Joomla. Or am I wrong?
I am not writing paid components for Joomla, but I just do not agree that I can't buy a piece of code to make my life easier, and someone gets some pizza or beer for the sold component. Again - all parties happy(I think).
Conclusion: if this will not be withdrawn, we will have a need of something that matches our needs and leave Joomla as is at it's all mighty

cheers!
